赵超是中国野生鸟类和灵长类动物研究人员,也是知名的自然摄影师和录音师。近年来在西南地区从事鸟类和灵长类研究工作,主要关注火干扰对鸟类群落和多样性的影响,获得野生动植物保护硕士学位。2015年与其同事一起描述了灵长类新物种“白颊猕猴”(Macaca leucogenys),这是世界上第二种由中国人发现并命名的灵长类动物。此外,他还发现了黑胸楔嘴鹩鹛(Sphenocichla humei)等物种的新纪录,也是少数几位在中国观察鸟类超过1050种的观鸟者。 赵超还曾在《中国国家地理》杂志社担任科考领队7年,长期在中国以及境外国家的偏远地区开展野外工作,策划并组织了中国国家地理飞羽瞬间野生鸟类摄影大赛,主编《飞羽瞬间—中国野生鸟类精彩图片选》。协助创办了中国国家地理“科研志愿者”项目平台,他参与策划和组织的《博物》夏令营是中国最早的自然教育实践活动之一。 此外他还他热衷于参与国内外保护机构的野生动植物保护事业,在中越边境喀斯特森林中首次拍摄到濒临灭绝的物种东黑冠长臂猿(Nomascus nasutus)的清晰图片并发表在美国国家地理杂志上,大量中国野生动物图片发表于中国国家地理、博物、华夏地理等媒体,为野生动物的保护宣传做出了贡献。2015年,他和志同道合的伙伴们发起成立了关注生物多样性保护的机构“云山保护”。 Chao Zhao is a researcher on wild birds and primates in China, and he is also a natural photographer and mixer. He has been working in the remote areas of China and overseas countries for a long time, and is involved in planning and organizing the China National Geographic Feather Instant Wild Bird Photo Contest entitled Flying Feathers - A Wonderful Picture of Chinese Wild Birds. Assisted in the establishment of China National Geographic “Scientific Research Volunteer” project platform. His summer camp, which he participated in planning and organizing, was one of the earliest natural education practice activities in China. In addition, he is also keen to participate in the wildlife conservation work of domestic and foreign conservation agencies, and for the first time in the Sino-Vietnamese border karst forest, a clear picture of the endangered species eastern black crested gibbon (Nomascus nasutus) is published in the National Geographic magazine.
