兴趣是最好的老师。高歌，自幼喜欢动物，对动物有浓厚的兴趣，尤其是对鸟类。2010年高考结束填报志愿时，只因看到“野生动物”几个字他就毅然选择了西南林业大学“野生动物与自然保护区管理专业”。之后他便在西南林业大学跟随著名鸟类学家韩联宪教授奔走在云南的山间田野开展观鸟活动、开展鸟类多样性调查工作。本科毕业后的他，还觉得意犹未尽，便又跟随青年才俊鸟类学研究者罗旭教授坚守在云南高黎贡山高海拔地带，开展高黎贡山高山雉类的野外生态学、以及高山环境中鸟类和兽类的多样性研究工作，当然工作主要时针对白尾梢虹雉和血雉滇西亚种的繁殖生态进行了观察研究。

自然生态摄影还是要多在野外跑，跑多了拍摄的机会才多。高歌在野外观鸟、做动物多样性调查以及开展高黎贡山高山雉类生态观察期间，也拍摄了大量野生动物的影像资料。拍摄的照片曾被《生物多样性》杂志封面采用，也在《中国国家地理》、《森林与人类》等杂志有发表。当然，多在野外跑还有其他的收获，截至目前，高歌以第一作者的形式在《生物多样性》杂志发表了高黎贡山中段高山环境中的鸟兽多样性的研究论文，也在其它杂志发表了多篇有关鸟类生态学方面的研究论文，白尾梢虹雉和血雉滇西亚种的繁殖生态学方面的研究论文也即将发表。

Curiosity is the best teacher. Ge Gao, who has been fond of animals since childhood. He has a strong interest in animals, especially for birds. When the college entrance examination ended his volunteering in 2010, he chose the “Wildlife and Nature Reserve Management Program” of Southwest Forestry University only because he saw the words “wild animals”. Later, he followed the famous ornithologist Professor Han Lianxian at the Southwest Forestry University to carry out bird watching activities and conduct bird diversity surveys in the mountain fields of Yunnan. After graduating from the undergraduate school, he still felt restless, and he followed the young talented ornithology researcher Luo Xu, who insisted on the high altitude of Gaoligong Mountain in Yunnan, carried out the wild ecology of Gaoligong Mountain and the birds in the alpine environment. They conducted research on the diversity of species and mammals, which mainly focused on the breeding ecology of Sclater's monal (Lophophorus sclateri) and blood pheasant (Ithaginis cruentus marionae).

Natural ecological photography still has to run in the wild, and there are more opportunities to shoot. During the observation of birds in the wild, animal diversity surveys, and ecological observations of Gaoligong Mountain alpine mites, a large number of wildlife images were also taken. The photographs were taken on the cover of Biodiversity magazine and published in magazines such as China National Geographic and Forest and Human. Of course, there are other gains in running in the wild. So far, Gao Ge has published a research paper on the diversity of birds and beasts in the high mountain environment of the Gaoligong Mountains in the form of the first author in Biodiversity. Other journals have published several research papers on bird ecology, and research publications on the reproductive ecology of Sclater's Monal Pheasant and the bloody pheasant are also forthcoming.
